Apprenticeships - Mechanical or Electrical

Practical and mechanically minded, you’ll have an opportunity to master a well sort after trade by learning on the job with our highly qualified and experienced engineering team at our Kawerau sawmill operation, as well as working towards and achieving your Trade Qualification.

This is a three-year program and the highly motivated and successful candidate will learn a wide variety of skills and knowledge across general engineering.

 We are looking for applicants that can demonstrate:

• Mathematical and mechanical aptitude
• NCEA—Level 2 (Year 12) Maths, Physics, Science or equivalent an advantage
• Self-discipline & a positive attitude
• Good communication skills & ability to work as part of a team
• The desire & commitment to work hard to succeed

The apprenticeship training program is actively managed in combination with Carter Holt Harvey and Competenz, an external training provider. The study side of the apprenticeship can be demanding of our time, however extremely rewarding. This is something you’ll need to give serious consideration before applying.
